My wife and daughter checked them out and my wife decided to try them. They are definitely well made and look great. The gilding is beautiful and the design is well thought out. but that is largely a matter of taste. They are indeed hoops, small hoops, but because one side is "chunky" they don't look like typical hoops (that's all my wife's discussion, transcribed). They may or may not be too "chunky" for your liking. Whether they are right for you may depend on your face shape and individual preferences. Opening and closing is a bit more difficult. A part of the hoop on the thin side is pulled back to open. Certainly not unique, but not what was expected either. All in all a good pair of earrings. again if you like the design. So four stars in total.
