Review on πŸ”§ Reese 1400850383 Pro Series Square Jack - 8000 lbs , Black: Heavy-Duty and reliable trailer jack by Alex Tellekson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great Jack for a great price. Two thumbs up!

I have a very old and very well assembled home build trailer that I use to tow cars and trucks. It's made of I-beams, weighs over 3,000 empty and is a real beast. Finding something that could lift it with the vehicle and take the abuse from my sons wasn't an easy task. The jacks of the big department stores and trailer dealers were not up to the task. They last a season, if at all, but eventually fail. When I was renovating a trailer this spring, I was looking for a heavy-duty jack that could be welded to the frame that would meet my needs once and for all. After looking at jacks in the $100+ range, I came across a review of this particular jack and was impressed by its many 5 star ratings. excellent recommendation to others. This is a strong, simple and well-made jack! It's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done and lifts my trailer with ease. I really like the drop leg which allows me to take up a lot of space before having to rotate it. The adjustment points are a little far apart, and I can drill an extra one or two to make it better for me, but that's personal preference. I also like that it has a grease fitting in the head to lubricate the gears (replaceable too). I will say that some of the photos in their ads are false and do not convey the true dignity of the jack. Some photos show the jack with a chrome plated bar, when in fact it comes with a large heavy metal bar painted black to match the jack. This leg is much nicer and larger than some of the photos and works very well. In operation, the jack works perfectly. It rotates smoothly and lifts my heavy trailer with ease. We welded it directly to the tongue and added gussets at the top and bottom to prevent lateral dodge. Most of the time this isn't necessary, but my welder is a bit compulsive and overly cautious. Now this thing is strong and will not go anywhere in my life or the next. LOL Conclusion: This is a great well made item that gets the job done and at a decent price. Stop wasting money on lightweight, bulky trailer jacks and hop on this jack, adjust it properly and you will literally be a "happy camper".
