I thought someone was joking when they said it was made from *slightly* more durable foam, but it's not. It's hard to describe but it's the best way to put it I think. I think the assembly was easy but just like assembling a box and in my opinion it's quite similar. Swings left and right when items are placed on it. If you're not hopping things up and down and the sole purpose is to look good while holding the decor, that might be fine, but still the build method shows those ridiculous open areas with pieces sticking out of holes. and there is nothing covering the self-tapping screws (by the way, they are meaningless. It is POSSIBLE to screw something into a dense foam). Maybe it's just me being unfamiliar with the materials listed. All I know is that I can't believe I paid $42 for a foam board. Absolutely not worth the price. JUST functional enough to not be worth taking apart and returning (I just needed something next to my desk to hold extra papers and other stuff as my desk is small). It would be nice for it to be a placeholder shelf until I find something more permanent if the price wasn't so high. Pooh.
