Review on Royal Canin Nutrition Bulldog 6 Pound by Christine Gatlin

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The poor English bully got so sick after trying to switch to it.

I'm almost embarrassed to leave 1 star because I'm sure every dog is different. Our breeder recommended this brand to us and told us to start in about 5 months. We followed the guide and the breeder and only added 25% for the first few days until he got used to it. Not sure why but after eating some of that piece he got SO sick. Twice vomiting and diarrhea for the next two days. The poor thing didn't want to eat, move or even drink after that. We stopped immediately and fasted him for about 20 hours before feeding him plain rice and boiled chicken. After he regained his strength, we returned to his original diet of a tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt and he appears to be back to normal. I mentioned what happened to my breeder and he said he's seen it a few times with bulldog puppies and thinks it might be too rich for some bullies. Which makes sense because I know as soon as I opened the package the smell of fish hit you like a freight train. Long story short we are now stuck with 30 pounds of pellets but I would rather throw money away than spend another 24 hours on it. Like I said, I'm sure this doesn't apply to every Bulldog, but thought I'd mention it in case this happens to yours and you're looking for advice on what to do afterwards.
