Some information you might not have known, which is important when you have a problem!

I've had it for two years to protect my downstream antenna system consisting of 3 HDHomerun units. Two days ago all signal was gone and I found it was coming from this device. I thought it was broken so I tried checking for a warranty. Despite what the listing says, there is actually no guarantee so forget about replacing it. However! I thought about the reset function. This should happen automatically, so I assumed that if it was dead, it really was dead, because otherwise it would have restarted, right? I've thought about it and tried to reconnect it this morning. Hi! It worked! So it seems that in at least SOME cases (like mine) you have to remove the cables and wait a while and reinstall the cables and that might work. I wish I could reassemble it right away to see if removing the coax connectors on both ends would reset the "hard" reset when it doesn't "automatically" reset, if there's any point in automatic at all Reset there! I mean how often do you know about overload so you can debug it? So thought I'd share this with y'all in case you're looking for RESET in the reviews ;-) Some other stuff. I grounded it to a steel rod. If you don't properly ground this thing to a proper ground with as short a wire as possible (use thick wire too) it has a much lower chance of saving your stuff (which happened in my last case! ALL my stuff is in Order). !, so it REALLY works), and then there's another issue that some reviewers missed: if, like me, you have an ethernet LAN connection from my downstream gizmos, then consider that ethernet Cables that are HIGHEST MANDATORY TRANSMISSION. 100%. Therefore, purchase Ethernet protection devices and install them in the appropriate locations to avoid coax double hits and Ethernet overload. Don't just rely on this surge protector. I'm just sharing my experience with you all!

Pros
  • The unique linear design is virtually transparent to all analog and digital signals from DC to 1 GHz.
Cons
  • High price
