Selecting an XXS adult size for a 7 year old weighing 55 pounds seemed like a roll of the dice. Speedo's own website only states that XXS has a 35" chest, 29" waist and 33" hips. That's still a lot for any child and not exactly helpful. But we aimed for a slightly larger product size to accommodate the to allow for maximum number of growing seasons I think we got the right size, the overall length is still above the ankles when standing and the arm cuffs are slightly longer than my child's, just enough to cover the arms if that is desired will but short enough for sleeves to be pulled up easily. In the end I had no complaints after using the team for the first time after swimming on a 40 degree evening. My child was warm. It clearly offers one excellent body heat retention, and the extra length of the arms means kids' hands and fingers can move in turtle mode to keep their whole body warm.
