Review on πŸŽ’ Canvas Blackburn Wayside Backpack Pannier by Kenneth Harris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent compromise

Regular backpack, regular basket. All this cannot be. The main downside is the fact that it hangs on a stand entirely with Velcro. After a few days of use I hooked it to the post a little carelessly and then when I jumped onto the curb the weight was too much for the velcro and it dislodged catastrophically. Now, to be on the safe side, I hooked one of the backpack straps to the opposite spring as shown in the picture. It also sags a bit through the basket when empty and can easily come into contact with the wheel. It's ok as a backpack, it works for school, work or groceries. The elastic on the sides leaves a lot to be desired, but it is there. The rest of the bag's design is quite nice and roomy. It looks good and gets a few compliments, although I'm not thrilled with how it hangs or how it feels empty or full on the back. It definitely takes a minute to switch between a backpack and a basket, but it's actually not that hard. I have a Thule convertible case with a pack and pedals that convert quicker, but I still prefer this Blackburn. In general, if you need a basket and a backpack, this is the best option.
