Description of πŸŽ’ Canvas Blackburn Wayside Backpack Pannier

CONVERTIBLE - This bag converts from something you wear to something that you can attach to the bike, pretty clever. WAXED CANVAS - Canvas is impregnated with wax to add extra water resistance and durability. Plus it is steezy. ROLL TOP DESIGN - This age-old bag design allows you to not only minimize the size of your bag to match the size of its contents but can also compress the contents if you want to go even smaller. DAISY CHAIN LOOPS - Not enough room inside the bag? No problem, just attach your gear to one of our convenient daisy chain loops made from tough webbing. HOOK AND LOOP ATTACHMENT - A quick, yet robust attachment to your bike.

Began to fall apart after a week

I liked it. A week later it started falling apart. The inner layer has started to peel off. Now it's completely worn out. I don't know if the one I received was defective or what the stitch quality is that we have but I'm sadly disappointed with what I received. It looks very nice and is exactly what I otherwise hoped for. Now I'm just wondering when the bag will burst in the middle of my trip.

  • Impressive
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Good backpack, okay pannier

Advantages: Pockets provide easy access to the contents of the bag. Wide, padded shoulder straps that can be stowed in a zip pocket are efficient and comfortable. Good material, looks a bit darker than shown in the photos - more brown, decent water resistance. The top velcros are easy to use and keep the bag secure on the large main compartment Cons: When the bag is empty and placed on my bike rack the bag is not stiff enough to fit my rear wheel The bottom velcros don't tighten enough to dress

Decent compromise

Regular backpack, regular basket. All this cannot be. The main downside is the fact that it hangs on a stand entirely with Velcro. After a few days of use I hooked it to the post a little carelessly and then when I jumped onto the curb the weight was too much for the velcro and it dislodged catastrophically. Now, to be on the safe side, I hooked one of the backpack straps to the opposite spring as shown in the picture. It also sags a bit through the basket when empty and can easily come into…

Great pack with small nits

I have been going to work with this pack for a week now and it is a great pack. Attaching as a basket takes a little longer than expected, a minute or two, winding up the velcro and undoing the straps is slower than standard basket hooks. I only use the cart function on the longest route because hanging up is a bit annoying. Then again, this is a great time to pack bikes. Even if I hadn't used the case a lot, I wouldn't have been disappointed with the purchase. If ultra-fast hovering is your…

So close to being the perfect bag/trunk

I've been eyeing this bag for a long time and finally decided to give it a try. Before purchasing I tried to read and view as many reviews as possible. When I searched I did not find the detailed photos I was hoping for, so here is my test report with detailed photos. if not on a bike. I don't like the shoulder straps on most baskets so this one looked promising as a backpack too. It seemed to check all my boxes, large main compartment, multiple side pockets, easily portable (backpack)…
