Excellent Magnets, Bright Light, Unsealed

My first came with a faulty hookswitch. I contacted Revain and they agreed to replace it. They delivered it to me the next day for free. The good news is that magnets are incredibly strong. Vision Invisible I was concerned about this, but as soon as I got my hands on the device and placed it on the roof of my truck, my fears vanished. I wouldn't worry about the magnets releasing. I would probably keep an eye on the nuts and bolts holding the magnets to the light. I am not sure if they are completely secure. Let's get to the bad news. Because the front and rear LED arrays are indirect and rely on a curved reflector to display and amplify the light, this device is not very bright during the day. Ambient light, especially sunlight, creates too much visual interference with reflected LED light, making the light appear weak or dim. This is normal at night, so if you work mostly at night, this light won't be a problem for you. However, during the day the light is barely visible and I wouldn't trust it for my safety. The two LED groups on the sides of the lantern are just great because they emit direct light and shine straight out of the window. Side and not down on the reflector like the front and back benches. If they used this style throughout, this light would be a hit. WOLO Sure Safe does just that, and it's super bright in all weather conditions for about half the price. The problem is that Sure Safe itself is physically smaller and more compact than this device, which is why I checked it out. It should be noted that the 4 LED arrays used on the sides of the Xprite are almost identical to the 4 LED arrays used in the Sure Safe. Replace it with something like Condor or maybe even Whelan if I find one in my price range that I like. UPDATE 10/15/18: Wolo Sure Safe to assess brightness. This device even performs well in daylight, but I still think the Wolo is the better of the two. I used this lantern for work and it hasn't been blown off my roof or given any indication that it could even be. It still feels firmly planted, I have no movement. Now for the bad news. The thing is about as waterproof as newspaper. Lens. I used this flashlight on a stormy night, exactly what you should do with safety gear like this. Somehow the water got in and here we are a few days later and the water is still in. It's a miracle, it seems, that the functioning of the device is not affected. Needless to say I am disappointed, I would even say angry. I hope someone from the company reads this and decides to contact me. I can't in good conscience recommend this lantern if it can't keep you dry even in a downpour; What good is it on a job site if it isn't weatherproof AS IT SPECIFIES?
