Review on πŸ’» Lenovo Chromebook Duet 2-in-1: WUXGA Display, MediaTek Helio P60T, 4GB RAM, 64GB SSD, Chrome OS by Louis Asok

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The insult to tech support makes it a gamble. It's a shame because of the well thought out design.

Please balance this negative review, which constructively reflects your own opinion, but I cannot recommend buying a Lenovo product do not recommend, having received from support team, and the nightmare of navigating their archaic repair ticket system (exacerbated by COVID repair center closures). Lenovo is no longer the company I fondly remember from my college days - their credo has shifted to a purely financial mindset - which has completely changed my praise and recommendation of their products With the enhanced plan, you as a customer are not valued. They are dedicated to their world-class products and server centers. From my long and frustrating experience, all benefits are negated. In other words, it's gambling. I definitely lost. But for <$300, can you imagine better? This is a risk. It's a pity really, because the hardware is damn good: Other reviews are rather mixed. That worries me alongside the thought that if something breaks or overheats you're more than likely to be on your own. Overheating (it's a killer) 2. The digitizer can suddenly fail, compounded by the lack of working ventilation. No touchscreen functionality.3. The state is frustrating.4. After just a little use (heating up again?), the performance is significantly reduced.5. The cloth base gets dirty quickly.6. Minimum Ports.7. Finnick Bluetooth.8. The magnetic keyboard mount is called "Floppy" (That's the best way to describe it. And there's nothing fancy or fun about it. It's just inconsistent and can be annoying.)9. The magnetic back panel offers no side protection and looks fun and useless for the first few days. But whatever iron is in your pocket gets tied to it, and not in the hilariously sexy way.10. The size of the keyboard is small and cute, but also annoying when you switch back and forth to full or even compact size.11. In hindsight, long-term durability is definitely an issue that isn't addressed by Lenovo or online reviews12. There are NO third party repair services or options to purchase replacement components. They just don't want to invest in products in this price range.13. (Reasonable #13) Customer service for products at this price point is zero, belying the benefits and fairly good workmanship of the device, which is heartbreaking given what Lenovo once envisioned. My personal story isn't vindictive - just a warning that regardless of your warranty status, you may not receive care or even respect if there is a problem. This isn't a Revain issue - it's a measure of Lenovo's gradual change in customer identity/goals. My 5 month frustration ended with ANY response from Lenovo despite literally 6 1/2 hours of phone calls. My daughter's virtual classroom Duet was permanently removed after less than a month of school use and replaced with a competitor's variant that was completely reliable and enjoyable. I really wanted it to be a home run. As consumers raise their concerns, the policies and updated support system may improve the quality of service for future users. Not me.

Pros
  • With a 10-inch IPS display with FHD resolution (1920 x 1200) and stunning color details, you don't have to sacrifice great pictures; The 10-point multi-touch touchscreen is also compatible with the USI stylus (stylus sold separately)
Cons
  • Quality
