First off, if you're complaining about mismatched edges, use a different LMAO. Have you ever collected puzzles? You're trying to center the corner. Second, I have no smell. Maybe they changed the way they are made/packaged, I don't know, but no smell. My baby is learning to crawl and this mat is perfect. I break it down into 4 large pieces, fold it up and tuck it under the couch when not in use. My baby rolled over and banged his head on it and it had no effect on her. It's soft enough that I feel safe while playing. She drools like a monster, but she just wipes right off the mat. It covers a very large part of the room. I didn't even use all the parts and I still had enough room for them to play with. As soon as she starts to crawl and walk more I will be buying another one or two to cover my entire living room. We have 5 dogs that walk on it and their claws don't poke holes. It is very durable considering its foam. This is an amazing product and well worth the price! And no, it was NOT given to me for free, and I'm not trying to "get free stuff". Just wanted to give an honest review as I've seen so many reviews from people who don't know how to put the two pieces together. I have included photos to show the difference in the shape of the corner pieces.
