Many battery operated massagers promise a massage this intense, but this one really delivers. There are no compromises when it comes to a device with a mains cable. The large round ball accessory dampens a little when hit with a hammer, but the other parts are hard plastic and dig in deep. Speed control offers a good range of options, but even the lowest is quite intense. You must be careful not to apply it to bony areas such as the spine and collarbone. Apparently it's not something you'd intentionally massage this way, but we found it uncomfortable. The setup and battery indicators are easy to see in any light. But we've also unintentionally drained the battery on a number of occasions by simply setting it aside when we're done - those indicators continue to drain the battery until you turn the device off. An automatic shutdown after more than 10 minutes of inactivity would be nice. The case looks sharp, as does the massager.
