Review on 🀲 Aircast Wrist Support Brace: Comfortable and Stabilizing Aid for All-Day Wear by Dean Wildfang

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Made a few mods but if velcro suits you.

I've made some major changes. I need a full time splint for TFCC instability and DRUJ bone spurs. Walgreens released a model with easy-to-release clips, but discontinued them. I also have RA and can't find a tire without a ton of velcro that hurts my toes when I have flair. I had a plan now to make my own modifications to the tire as long as the RA is well controlled and have ordered this and two other brands. The other 2 allow my hand to move from side to side, but this one doesn't allow it to move to the pinky at all. I left the Velcro on the thumb loop for the time being to find the best position and tightness there. But I removed the 2 plastic rings and the ridiculously strong velcro straps. I placed the logo tape over the top fluffy velcro to keep lint and stuff from collecting. The hobby lobby had nylon straps and medium release clips that I added. The factory wide strap puts too much pressure on the ulnar styloid (the bulge that sticks out the side of the little finger), but the 1 inch strap I used is perfect. The metal supports are too thick to easily bend and adjust by hand. As long as it's not hot and sweaty. I order another to change so I can take turns wearing and wearing one while I wash and dry the other.

Pros
  • Hand and wrist rests
Cons
  • unreliable
