My heart is in fishing; all kinds of freshwater to all kinds of saltwater. Here in Florida, I have several backpacks loaded with utility boxes and gear. One is for freshwater, one is for saltwater, one is for catfish, and a fourth is for chasing freshwater Trout when I head up north. The idea is that, because I often time have a big weakness of forgetting to transfer one (or more) of my vital items from one bag to the other, then putting a pair of gloves, pliers, scissors, etc. in each bag would eliminate that problem; all that I would need to worry about would be grabbing the bag and then the right rods, and then I could just head out. Saltwater species are much hardier, aggressive, and potentially damaging (especially while we handle them). I knew the gloves that I would need for the species that I would be catching would have to be thick, but still able to allow my hands and fingers to function freely. They would also need to provide good UV protection. When these gloves arrived, I knew that these were the ones to call my saltwater bag "home.” The material is thick enough to provide adequate protection for my needs, but does not hinder the movement in my hands or fingers. The tip cut-outs obviously allow for me to use my iPhone and other finger-activated/controlled devices easily. And those little tabs on the inside portion of the ring and middle finger? They help to pull the gloves on and off; these alone help so much with these kinds of gloves and that design is lacking in many pairs of gloves on the market. The color also looks great, and I’m convinced that my color (the A-Green) blends well with water when I place my hands close to the surface and/or into the water. I have fairly large hands and the "large” sized gloves fit my hands perfectly. And I mean perfectly. These provide heavy UV protection and the extended wrist sleeve helps just that much more, especially at areas with high sun intensity such as the beach or on the boat in the ocean. Even during full fishing days, I remove these to find those stereotypical tan lines because they protect my skin so much. The material is very flexible, and it doesn’t stay wet long. In fact, it almost acts like the "cooling” material that many face shields are made from. Just be careful not to get hooks stuck in it. Because of the flexible nature of the material, if a hook goes in past the barb, the material will close up around the hook beneath the barb and it will be pretty hard to get the hook out without cause further damage. If it happens, try pushing a poker into the hole so that you can pull it to the side, open the hole up, and slide it up and over the barb of the hook. Otherwise you can just bend the barb down on the hook if you don't care to sacrifice the hook. I would like to thank Best Buy for allowing me to be a part of their Vine program.
