Finally a phone/tablet holder that doesn't look like a table lamp (with those springs). It's very stylish, durable and quite heavy, but that's how it should be since it's a desktop version. It really can work top-down - have used this feature for live cooking videos so far but also bought it for piano lessons. I can easily move it from the floor to the table top. I haven't used the tablet mount but will update my review if there are any "sags" or weight/size issues caused by the iPad.
