Review on πŸ”‘ Nite Ize Waterproof Key and Fob Hider KBXL-01-R7, XL Size, Black by Jon Booth

Works even better than I expected!

Ever since I locked the keys in my running car at the campsite with no help (eventually using a MacGyver-style contraption of two wooden dowels glued together, coat hangers and a shovel to pry open the corner of the door a bit so I can crawl through and push the unlock button, I'm in!), I had a spare key for my car hidden in the bottom of one of these devices. I wasn't sure how well the magnet would hold so I also used zip ties attached to another part under the car and through a hole in the side of this suitcase to at least keep it from disappearing when he is torn out. But now, two years later, it's still holding on and hasn't even dropped! And that includes driving over potholes in the streets of Manhattan, *incredibly* bad roads in an industrial area of Brooklyn, and dirt roads in upstate New York (I also saved my ass once locking my backpack in the car, in I just put my keys in :-P ). Notes: 1) I haven't tried the self-adhesive steel plate as I was able to find a flat piece of my car's frame underneath that it attaches to like a champ with no extra work, so I can't vouch for that part. Theme. 2) Like any other magnet, it will NOT stick to aluminum, fiberglass, plastic and some types of stainless steel (this is just physics, not the fault of the product). So maybe use another magnet first to figure out where to put it before you buy it (or any other magnetic device like this). Heartily recommended!
