I bought this tv for my mom and set it up to use its own remote control instead of the air mouse which I usually recommend due to its physical limitations. I couldn't find any information about the Android part of this TV and I took a chance and bought this TV anyway. Below is the information I was looking for but could not find before purchasing. 1) Don't expect this Android to resemble what's on your phone. There are a few limitations, particularly with language selection (yes, English is included) and the selection of apps in the Google Play Store is severely limited; 2) The good news is that you can download apps, but most of them show up as system apps and you need a dedicated SideLoader app (available on TV PlayStore) to run them. The path you chose: First install the app on your phone, save the APK from your phone to a USB stick, insert the USB stick into your TV and launch it using File Explorer. menu navigation. As for the TV itself, everything is fine. I have two main complaints: 1) the audio is too loud, and normal audio for a non-deaf person is at the very beginning of the adjustment spectrum, almost a click away from turning the audio off completely. That means you don't have much customization freedom; 2) The TV's legs are flimsy, as other reviewers have pointed out, but the TV itself is very light, so it's not that much of an issue. If you can live with the above cons, this is a good cheap Android TV with fast Android that I recommend. ---------------- Update 07/02/2020 --------- -- They recently released a system update that upgrades the Android version to 9, but all complete has deleted user data and installed applications. I had to go through the setup process again. Not a disaster, but definitely an inconvenience. The update is started manually. So if you don't want to worry about setting up and reinstalling all your applications, don't run this update!
