Fits right but works. Those who ride BMW GS bikes know you can either use a crappy OEM BMW shifter or go to the aftermarket and your choice is either ALUMINUM shifters for $150 and up (what the heck is that ??) or this thing. This is undoubtedly the best choice. It's thin and flexible, but durable. Won't bend if shifted or abused, but will warp if you hit a rock, but bends easily on the trail! This design also means it's strong but flexes on impact rather than shattering like fancy $200 Touratech aluminum, and flexibility means the lever will flex and not transmit force to your shifter shaft. Sometimes hitting thicker, stiffer arms can damage your gearing because that arm isn't next to the dissipating force. Just not this one. This is the right shifter for enduro and it holds up well. Since installing I've dropped my bike about a dozen times, rocks, dirt, roots, fast and slow. traveled 20,000 miles with this derailleur installed, including US road trips and off-road rides in Colorado and Utah through passes in the Rocky Mountains as well as several other BDRs. That thing is rock hard! Attention: The BMW is really tight. You will need to use a flathead screwdriver inserted into the gap in the slots to install it around the shifter shaft, but it stays firmly in place once engaged.
