Even after twisting the plug into the socket, there are no protruding parts as people report. The problem seems to be that people use them with oddly placed 3.5mm jacks. You know those weird headphones that have a lot of plastic sticking out on the sides and are deeply recessed for aesthetic reasons or something? For standard 3.5mm open jacks, this jack works fine, fitting in cleanly and staying tight and snug inside. Would buy again. I thought a braided cable would be bad (since paracord cables don't work well on things like mice) but the braid is nice and tight but thin enough to allow the cable to move freely, a very nice touch. Will update if anything goes wrong but overall very happy to recommend.
