Edit: Got a replacement and it was amazing! The noise was definitely coming from the engine because I couldn't even tell if it was on. I forgot when I went to bed. I have low temperatures, around 85°C, when playing FarCry NewDawn on my Asus G14. It used to run around 90-100°C so there are definitely improvements. Would recommend, just hope you don't get it with bad engine noise. When I opened this cooling pad, I liked it. It feels sturdy and well made. It's made of plastic, but mostly on the bottom, the grille is metal. The lights are cool, not too bright and not too dark. Either way, for what it's intended for, it's pretty good. I used it with my gaming laptop and it lowered the temperature from 90 to 85. I basically just bought it for a stand as I don't have an external monitor. the engine makes a lot of noise. It's like the motor isn't spinning properly, so it's moving from side to side. It's quite loud and gets annoying after a while. I've been playing games with headphones so it's not noticeable, but for a movie or watching it's annoying. There shouldn't be that much noise. The fact is that the fan itself is much quieter. The engine also makes this noise when revving. That's the only reason I wouldn't recommend this product.
