Review on PocketWizard PlusX Wireless Remote Trigger by Craig Mcdonald

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Affordable, reliable, compact. Works well with TT1 on Nikon D300S and with Nikon SB-900 and SB-910 flashes

I use TT1 on my D300S hot shoe and SB-910 on top. PlusX devices launch another SB-910 and SB-900. This setup has worked flawlessly so far. You need to set the remote flashes manually as this is just a trigger. If you want to control your flashes from your camera's master flash (or if you want to use TTL in remote flashes), you'll need to pair the TT5 on the remote flash with the TT1 on the camera's hot shoe. TTL is a measure of "through the lens" illumination. With PlusX, your remote flashes don't know what your camera is measuring, so it's really a manual flash mode for your remote flashes. If that suits you, PlusX is a great option. The assembly is good, compact, reliable. Otherwise check out the TT5 if you don't want to be 100% remote controlled flash. The PlusX comes with the cable needed to connect the SB-900 and SB-910 Speedlights, as well as a standard audio cable for other Speedlights that use it.
