Review on Mityvac MV8510 Silverline Elite Hand Pump: Ultimate Solution for Efficient Vacuuming Needs by Michael Wilson

So I looked for a hand vacuum pump and decided on this one. It's awesome. BUT! Like other people, the pen can and will pop out of its place. The reason for this, I think, is twofold. Pump more slowly to allow the plunger inside the device to pull the handle back. This is a manual pump. If you try to pump too fast, the plunger won't be back in place when you try to push again, and the handle will pop off the pivot. 2. The design could certainly be updated. Either by adding a pin or something between the handle and the main arm/pivot. I have a feeling that adding something like this might make the solution more difficult. The pin that connects the piston to the top of the handle is really sticking and will eventually need to be repaired due to wear. Place teflon or graphite there to reduce wear there. But if they use compatible metals or better secure that pin on top, it might last longer too.
