I am so happy with this saddle stool. I'm 5ft 8", hips 37", I have fractured lumbar vertebrae, thoracic spine, coccygeal deformity, old collarbone injury and accessory scaphoid all aggravated by ligament laxity so I'm generally in pain, sprained and have MSD . I used to ride a bike when I was a kid and I want to make this point clear - this chair is going to train and hurt you first if you have poor muscle tone and posture for whatever reason! There's a lot of research on this if you're prone to it, and any secondary ailments should go away once you tune in and get used to it. I've been on a horse - my whole body hurts but I feel like I've had a good workout. My fingers in the first picture don't match the width of the seat well due to the perspective, but it is actually the width of the saddle. (You can practically picture a horse.) The smallest height is perfect for use at my desk, which measures 28 inches at the bottom and 29.25 inches at the top. My elbows hang about 2 inches above the table, but my hands and wrists can rest and work comfortably without having to "fight" with the weight of my arms. The second photo shows the angle of my legs when I'm my shortest size. The width of the seat keeps your hips open, and at my height, my knees are at or near 90 degrees to my legs no matter where I place them. Set at full height (third photo), it's perfect for leveling with a tripod and camera setup without having to bend down. The front of the chair is flush with my tabletop, but because this full-height stool tilts your legs down so far, I only have to slide the seat back an inch to comfortably sit on a table-edge-tight seat. my table. I could feel the muscles between my shoulder blades "tingling" as they had to work to support my body as only the balls of my feet were resting on the ground. This was the most difficult area in physical therapy without making other areas worse, so I'm very happy with it. The seat has decent and comfortable padding, neither too soft nor too hard for me. My tailbone doesn't carry any weight when I sit up straight. The material is quite grippy but not breathable so it can get a bit wet after a while. However, getting up every once in a while is never wrong in any sitting situation. Regardless of the casters, the seat rotates very easily if you do a full 360 or two, but the occasional change of direction is intentional and otherwise stays where you want it. The white seat is, I would say, "Ikea white" and is easy to clean - I got a small scuff on reassembly but it was wiped clean with a mild cleaning spray and a rag. There is a spot in the middle of the seat where the stitching feels a bit tight and I can see the edges of the pinholes. It will take some time to see if this seam rips. The height adjustment lever takes some getting used to - you can reach it without bending over - but years of using office chairs with armrests still make me slim, and the lever "doesn't work" when the center of gravity is off. It feels a bit hesitant to go up and down, but I think it will smooth out over time. There is good rolling resistance, which avoids the problem of the stool wanting to crawl when working over uneven floors. Once I caught my ankle on the edge of a chair; The edges are a bit rough on the underside, but that's not a problem once you figure out how to clear the wheelbase while driving. Your legs are naturally positioned away from it. The biggest hurdle is making sure the seat is properly aligned when you stand up, grab something, and sit back down without control. It can spin a little while standing, but it didn't roll back once when I sat down unchecked and accidentally bumped into it from the side. With a surface nearby to hold onto while sitting, I don't feel like this chair will play me, and I'm already used to grabbing the 'bar stool'. All in all this chair is fantastic. It's comfortable, it's practical, it feels right at home in my environment, and it promotes better muscle tone. As soon as I can afford it I will buy one for my mom who loves to quilt; She's almost 70, 5ft 2in, wide hips, has asthma attacks that are made worse by scoliosis, osteoporosis and increasingly poor posture - she looked so happy and said she wanted one the moment she tried it . Her feet were almost flat on the ground at minimal height and she could move comfortably and most importantly her posture was perfect and reminded me of her youth. I'm not saying that this particular saddle stool is a panacea, but saddle stools are good for your body - this particular saddle stool is basically perfect for the price and definitely worth checking out.
