Review on Splice Machine by William Turner
Spliceme is great value storage engine and easy integration into applications
I like that it's free for small datasets to use as an RDBMS or NoSQL store if needed by your application without needing expensive licenses depending upon how much data you are storing in each system - but also have options available from Enterprise versions when required! For this reason we choose splicemachine over other solutions (Cassandra & Mongo) because of its flexibility at such low cost compared with some commercial offerings which make me question whether our requirements can be met within their offering scope?
Pros
- Easy configurability via configuration files rather than code using Java annotations eases development / customisation process
Cons
- Not being written fully OO style
- It still requires manual monitoring
