We bought a custom laptop for $1600 from a company that specializes in high performance laptops. However, the laptop monitor was pixelated and my daughter's eyes had deteriorated so much over the past year that when we discovered the laptop screen was damaged we were given an extra monitor. I was worried that cheap monitors would also be bad, but while they're not 100% perfect, they're way better than your laptop. especially if you use it to watch movies] nice big display and best of all, no pixel movement or flickering! The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't rotate up/down very much and feels a little flimsy and wobbly when adjusting the angles. Hope it holds up over time.
