I find shaving a waste of time, not pleasant. I hate it. When I was in the Navy, I sometimes had to shave twice a day. After I got into the narcotics department, I took a break from shaving for a couple of years. Everyone in the narcotics department has beards, even the clerks. I'm moving to a new position this summer and have had to relearn how to shave. I knew I was done with Razor Club cartridge blades and the thought of using safety razors and double edged blades scared me. Salesperson. I tried several different blades and different soaps before liking the experience with this razor handle. To me, that means the blades play a big part in the shaving process. I've fared best with less aggressive blades (Astra Superior) but everyone is different and it's such a touchy subject. The Razor Mall gave me a lot of information on the blades I bought here and great tips on how to shave with DE safety blades. . The best tips I've learned: * Know your grit and shave with it if you're sensitive. * Try shaving with cold water if you are sensitive. *Use an alum bar and cold water to clog your pores so bacteria can't get in and wreak havoc *Don't be afraid to try any product or process before or after you shave. In summary, this is a great entry-level razor if you're looking to upgrade to a safety shave with DE blades! It's a very solid weight but not heavy.
