Review on LuxLock Patented Replacement Earring Sterling by Michelle Langley

Almost too strong but happy with the purchase

At first I looked for stud earrings with screw backs, but they often turned out to be significantly more expensive than earrings without a threaded shank. When a company was asked if they could make threaded bolts they mentioned this brand but at a more expensive price. After some research, I found the list here and decided to take the plunge, although I was still skeptical. When the pads arrived they looked like regular pads or clasps - nothing special - like the pads you get with earrings from Forever 21, H+M or Primark. I don't currently have any diamond studs. I decided I wouldn't invest in threadless diamond studs until I was sure they worked, so I tried them on my pearl studs. On a test ride of a few minutes it seemed like if the cleats got caught in the sweater they could still be pulled out with a good, hard pull. Mind you, I don't have free piercings. I thought about returning them. Anyway, after wearing my back for a long time for the first time the other night, I went shooting my stilettos at the end of the night and was having such a hard time. These things were so reliable I even ripped one of my beads off a post trying to get it off! I'll fix it with glue as I haven't lost the beads, but they seem like an affordable and very effective alternative to grub screws on lids or backs. I would only recommend them with sturdy earrings from a good artisan with reliable gemstones. I will keep them!

Pros
  • Comfortable to wear
Cons
  • old
