Review on πŸ”Œ Cable Matters 6 Feet Right Angle HDMI Cable - Ready for HDR and 4K Resolution - 90 Degree HDMI Right Angle Cable by Jeffrey Connel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

GREAT CABLE... BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT!

This is a five star cable for both its quality construction and impeccable performance, even in the most demanding HD video applications. No, it's not as sleek as the Monster MC 1000HD version, but it actually has better specs than the Monster and costs less than a fifth the price. It's an easy choice if ever there was one, and a good deal. BUT… if you need a single angle HDMI cable like this, you also NEED to know if you need a 90 degree angle or a 270 degree angle (both cables are important), which depends on the connection to your TV or other audio/video equipment. How to figure out which one you need... First, take a close look at the right-angle HDMI connector on this 90-degree cable. See how one side of the gold connector is slightly narrower and narrower than the other side? See how the narrower side lines up with the cable itself? This is a 90 degree angle. If you look at the 270 degree bend, you'll see that it looks exactly the same, except that the narrower side of the connector faces away from the cable. Why is it important? Here's why... Take a look at the HDMI socket you want to use on your TV or A/V device. Notice how the narrower side is oriented - in the same direction you want the cable to go, or in the opposite direction? If it goes the same direction, choose a 90 degree bend... if it goes the opposite direction, choose 270 degrees. For example, I used an HDMI port on the side of a flat screen TV and wanted the cable to go to the back of the TV. On the kit's female joint, the narrower part was oriented towards the back of the kit...so I chose a 90 degree angle. If it were aimed at the front of the TV, a 270 degree cable would be the right choice. What if you make a mistake? The connections still work fine, but you end up with a cable that goes in the opposite direction that you want. This information can be a little confusing, but I hope what I have described is clear. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope you find it helpful in your purchase decision!
