Son wanted a pair of quality boots for so long that we ended up covering half when he was working for the other half. The purchase of these machines was worth a large financial investment. We don't make a lot of money, but quality is very important because quality lasts - and quality costs more. But in recent years it seems that the brand is money, not necessarily quality. We were pleased that after a few weeks of use these boots held up very well to the antics of a 12 year old. The heel does not show major signs of wear, such as is typically seen when someone takes their shoes off with their toes on the heel. Like all 12-year-olds, he kicks them, albeit more gently than the others, and they pass the test. We are a big family so sometimes you have to step on your boots to get to your shoes but then again they seem to age like fine wine - better with time and wear. Very happy. Would buy again.
