It's stronger than I expected which is a big plus. I'll feel fine putting my tablet on it, but for now it's mostly used to hold my phone. It has good foam padding for the table top. This will avoid scratches on the surface. You can pretty easily unscrew the stand if you need to remove it without disassembling the mount. It's pretty tight. It should be noted that it must be attached to a thick surface. I have a table that is 2" thick and works great, but it may not be enough if you have a table that is more than a standard size. You can always cut the metal to make it shorter, but at this point I'd probably prefer a different mount. You will need a 1.8 inch thick surface to install as supplied. The included ball mount and hot shoe mount seem good, but I haven't used them and don't intend to.
