Wig arrived with a very strong and unpleasant smell. Had to wash it twice. The water turns brown when you wash it but I don't think it's dirt, it seems to be some sort of hair coloring that is responsible for the color that runs when you wash it and the smell.The first time I washed it, it dried very poofy without much curl definition and still had the smell so I rewashed it and let it really soak in the shampoo. I used conditioner and then while it was dripping wet used a very generous amount of aunt Jackie's curl custard and let it hang dry. No towel used. It dried with very natural looking curl definition. Very full wig and versatile. Looks just like my natural hair but takes some work to get there.
