I recently moved to a place with a great but sadly abandoned fridge. Too many things were rotting in there, and the smell was strong enough to spoil any food stored in it, even in the freezer. I removed all the rot and wiped everything with baking soda but that didn't help. Leaving large bowls of baking soda in it didn't work. I finally broke down and cleaned it, left it open for four days and wiped it down every night and that mostly helped. But it STILL smelled faintly and stuck to water and ice even with a fresh filter. I took two cups of these pellets, put them in a mesh bag and put them in the back of the fridge. The smell disappeared overnight and the taste of water and ice became fresh. Really amazing things.
