Review on ๐ŸŽ’ Targus CitySmart Backpack 15.6 Inch TSB895: Sleek & Versatile Travel Companion by Yadira Hernandez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Best layout ever (have owned multiple bags) - cheap zippers that are difficult to use, uncomfortable straps

I am having a very, very hard time rating this backpack. I like it a lot. I really have to give this rating 4 stars. It's almost perfect. But I'll give it a C for the cons below (and if they were corrected I'd give this bag a nine on a five point scale). So I hope Targus reads this review carefully. The first pluses: 1. The layout is IDEAL. Without exception the best layout I have ever seen in a backpack. This is the best bag yet that (a) allows a full view of each compartment, knows everything that's in there, and most importantly (b) is designed so that the overhead light shines to the bottom of each compartment! This is a really well designed layout. Better than my more expensive EverKey or Samsonite. And that's why I'm satisfied and keep this bag for myself - design of all compartments. From the handy top two compartments for storing sunglasses and batteries, to the front compartment for pens and bags, to the main compartment and rear laptop/tablet compartment, everything is very well designed with 100% easy access to SEE every item and TO RECEIVES .stored in a bag. Nobody should look for something kept in this bag. all items are clearly visible.2. The bag stands upright! Empty or full or somewhere in between, it stands - and it's pretty solid! Wow! You'd think this should be an easy thing for the manufacturer to do - but that's not really the usual scenario (no matter how much money you spend on a backpack - my experience is that they come easy). I use backpacks on vacation, but that's pretty rare. I use more backpacks every day to carry things from home to work and back. At work, I keep my backpack on my desk, not on the floor, and I work with it there, lugging and taking things out throughout the day. So not having to turn back and lean against my desk wall is a BIG BIG thing for me! Because of these two qualities mentioned above, I am very satisfied with this bag! 3. This is a man's bag (actually I think a woman can be happy with it too). It's small enough for everyday use. but not so small that you can't go to an out-of-town conference and fit everything you need in it. But it's not big enough to climb Everest with all your worldly possessions, including your kitchen sink. holding a spare tent and the like. Okay, maybe there was a bit of sarcasm in the last sentence, but what I was really looking for was something that slanted towards smaller, but not too small. Most high quality backpacks advertise how big they are. I just carry a lot of small adapters and things, a power bank, business cards, pens, an Apple Pencil, a 12.9 inch iPad Pro, sometimes books, and sometimes when I'm doing a big programming project at work I need to bring mine 15 MBR back and forth. On vacation, I was able to swap out the back of the camera and bring along a Nikon D7000 with multiple zoom lenses separated by fans. Also, my iPhone Max fits PERFECTLY in the "cup holder" on the side. so I keep it there for very easy access! Now for the cons. Disadvantages. 1. Zippers are cheap (IMHO). especially the ones for the "head office". It's very hard to work - you need two hands - and that's where he gets stuck! This is such a big disappointment - this issue alone is worth the TWO STARS for this rating! The second minus is certainly a minus, but this is the main one. Agree, I'm spoiled by expensive backpacks I've bought in the past. but to let Targus know - I would be willing to spend more money on this bag if it would polish up those manufacturing issues. for each laptop in the laptop compartment and fixation of item #2. The straps are very uncomfortable. The straps are hard and uncomfortable. Carrying this bag is worse than all three I own. But I can live with that. However, how much better could it be with softer and more comfortable shoulder straps? Hope this helps with feedback. BY THE WAY . Whoever designed the layout of this bag - give this guy a raise!
