When we built our house, a cabinet was made to house the GE "economical" microwave that we bought in 2010. We hardly used it as we have another powerful microwave and that machine is weak and the paint inside has peeled off (so we only heated the covered items). A few days ago the microwave came on when we opened the door. I tried replacing it with another car but there was nothing for this place except this one from GE. With the alternative of reconfiguring the very complex cabinet system in our kitchen, we went with GE's space saver (three times the price of comparable machines). To our surprise, not only were the holes where the screws hold it in different places, but they were also asymmetrical. While we didn't have to completely redo our cabinets, we still needed some serious work to reconfigure them so we could install the bracket that held them up. Why should they do this? If it's the same car meant to replace the same model but three times the price, why make such a change? I don't know the answer, but I will not buy any more GE equipment or products. They are clearly not customer centric.
