Review on Rocky Mountain Low Gaiters by Outdoor Research by Matt Simpsons

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Black, hot, work.

I bought these for beekeeping so the bees wouldn't get down my pants and sting my ankles. They do an excellent job of that. I had a pair of old knee length cross country ski boots that I had worn for 25 years that closed at the back. They use velcro on the front. I think the zipper is faster as it straightens the sides on its own as it closes. They are only black, so very hot in summer. The lace hook is on the back (from my old leggings) and points towards your foot, not away from it. They get the job done but don't snag or stay in place as much, and if they come loose the spats pop up. The heel strap is sewn in but feels sturdy. I am not sure if they will last 25 years. But the height is much better. This winter I will also try cross-country skiing.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • So so
