Review on Experience High-Def Gaming on the Go with INNOCN's 15.6" Detachable Computer Speakers and OLED Monitor by Brian Samaddar

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Looks great without Windows HDR

Update: 4/5INNOCN General Support reached out and answered my concerns about this product with more information. I appreciated the help so thought I should update the review. Connections: Use an HDMI to mini HDMI adapter - I used UGREEN. One of the two USBC ports must be connected for the power supply to work. Construction: Looks good and the stand does the job. The bezels are large enough that the clips don't get in the way of the screen when using a stand. Screen: Custom calibration profiles are interesting, but I settled on the Director profile. You can set the refresh rate to 66 Hz in the NVIDIA Control Panel. The screen colors are excellent in SDR. The Windows HDR implementation is the reason I can't give it 5 stars. Once HDR is enabled, colors become distorted and look unnatural. Now if all you need is a brighter screen, HDR works. However, HDR is mostly used for streaming and is not ideal. The HDR feature in the custom menu is useful for you, I can't tell if it looks better or not. He just looks a little different. TLDR: Do not enable Windows HDR. Turn on the HDR effect if you want. Original review: HDR video doesn't seem to work on AMD on NVIDIA GPUs. It works with Samsung Dex. Image quality is good. Not much larger than another 13.3 inch model sold by INNOCN. The USBC video port also does not support HDR. The HDR specification is heavily promoted and virtually useless for most use cases.
