Review on ๐ŸŽต ION IT28 Flash Conversion Turntable: Quick Play with USB Flash Drive Support by Trevor Rodke

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent Player; Easy and fun

The Ion IT28 Quick Play Flash Player is everything Ion claims. small, beautiful, efficient, 3 speeds (33, 45, 78 rpm). It works perfectly. I have 7 portfolios of 78rpm recordings that I wanted to digitize and this Ion does it. Simply plug the included USB stick into the USB port, place your vinyl on the turntable and start converting. After that, you can insert the flash drive into your Mac or PC and copy the converted digital file. This is the easiest way to transfer music. You can also use the included software by connecting the Ion directly to a computer. The Ion can be connected to any receiver (even without a turntable input) by plugging into a simple RCA input jack. Since many newer surround sound receivers no longer have a turntable input, this is a great way to listen to your old recordings. The Ion comes with a USB drive, all Mac and Windows cables and software, and a needle cartridge for the 78, 45 and 33 models. Replacement parts are available and very inexpensive. The 78's terrible sound quality carries over to digital, of course, but with the help of third-party audio software music can be easily filtered out and offensive scratches and hissing kept to a minimum. I can't say enough about Jon. They created a simple and direct approach to a very old problem. to bring those old analogue records into our new digital lives.

Pros
  • Convert LP to WAV without computer
Cons
  • Very expensive
