I've tried a few cheaper bar stool covers but none have held up well. (The latter reminded me of a faux leather shower cap; the faux leather started peeling off the elasticated base after about a year.) This one is advertised as leather (I don't think it's actually leather, but it looks like leather). appears to be of good thickness and very smooth surface of the chair - no creases or bulges). It is very well designed and constructed. The pillow is very thick and firmly sewn so that it does not slip. The elastic hem is durable and provides a snug fit. The top of my bar stool is 13" in diameter and this cover fits perfectly.
