This lantern looks very well made. Don't expect it to be very bright as it's made for polite lighting. It emits a beautiful pure blue that makes the inside of my boat really clear at night without negatively affecting night vision. Edited on 3/5/14. Having had these headlights for a year now I can still say I love them and work/look nice. However, I would like to add a note on installing these lights. When tightening, make sure to seal them with silicone and leave the screws slightly loose (barely hand-tight) after the silicone has set. The reason is that cracks appear on my headlights. It wasn't noticeable when I first installed it, but it's very noticeable now. I don't think there's anything wrong with the backlights, but they're pretty flimsy around the mounting holes and break easily, so I probably overtightened them during installation.
