The card worked fine after I followed the installation instructions. I've tried installing it without plugging the card into the power supply's Molex connector. It didn't work, so I looked around and put together an extension that might have served. When I plugged the Molex socket into the connector on the board, the connector's plastic locking pins popped out of the board. I looked at the 4 solder points through a magnifying glass and decided that the electrical connection must be good. I didn't try to push the plastic locking pins back into the holes on the board. I activated everything and the card works fine. I realize I could probably return this and get a replacement, but I'm happy with it as it is. I have purchased many Vantec components for various purposes over the years and this is the first time I have had an issue.
