I don't know why the bad reviews.
Everything is right in this set. Exactly like the picture. This is a tricolor brown, but the medium brown is now very different in color from the tan. The duvet is soft and warm. The skirt is soft and feels like suede, as is the blanket. The pillows are light and fluffy Everything feels very comfortable This is not a duvet so it's not too fluffy. 2.5-3 inches. I think the set can't be beat for the price. To find something similar you'll be in the $250-$500 range.
