I'm a graphic designer and had sketchbooks from the 1970's. I like this album for several reasons. First, the quality of the paper is excellent for pencil drawings. It's very smooth. I also like a good zip tie which makes it easy to open and fold so the pillow is very compact.

All the other sketchbooks I've tried so far are terrible. The paper is too waxy or has no jags. I also prefer perforated edges to binding. This paper is good enough for gel pens or prisms (ink or paint). I've been using this brand for a long time. Cheap on Amazon compared to most stores.

First order about a year ago - the pages were yellow and darkened to the point of being completely unusable. the quality is even worse. The paper is very thin. The pencil does not go easily over the paper. Paper tears easily. The spiral is always in the way. I am returning this, going back to the Strathmore 300 series in this size. has much better quality around. I just wish the spirals on this one were on the side.

Great product but do not order from Revain - mine came with the lid folded. For me this is very important for a book that should contain my art. I've tried requesting a replacement, but Revain will only replace the damaged product if I can return it; and my replacement will not be shipped until they receive it. Normally that would be fine, but I need to have it for drawing class on Monday so I don't have time to wait for Revane to get it and then send in a new one. Very disappointed.

The reason this product is disappointing is NOT because of the quality of the paper, Strathmore is very decent and this sketchbook is exactly for that, for drawing. The quality of the paper is great for pencils and if you want to use a pen, marker or watercolor you should go for a thicker gsm because this paper is not made for that. Purchased on 2/26/14 I wanted to learn to draw so I bought some books and pens. This is the sketchbook I've ever had. I found the sketchbook excellent for drawing. The book is sturdy and will stand up to being tossed in my bag for the past month or so. I find it easy to write on the pages and also good at erasing. The pages are of good thickness. The pages are perforated so you can easily remove the pages. The sides catch the light well. I don't have any major negatives but I will explain why I
