Nice heavy paper: my feedback

I haven’t watercolored since high school but I enjoyed it then and was ready to take my hobby back up after many years. I can’t compare it to other papers as I am still new at doing this again. I was pleased with how heavy the paper is and how nicely packaged the two tablet came. There is a texture to the paper that may be a challenge at times but as a new-by it works for me as I learn to watercolor again.

Pros
  • Paper, Cotton
Cons
  • The paper may not be suitable for large scale paintings

This was created by a working artist. The thoughtfulness of "A” cold pressed sides facing each other and "B” cold pressed sides facing each other is something rarely seen in watercolor and sketch pads. Though it’s only 110lb. it is very sturdy paper, just use caution when water washing; it will buckle. The book itself is hard cardboard therefore very stiff and sturdy, plus there is an elastic band to keep it closed. These traits make it excellent for travel, carrying in luggage or backpack…

Pros
  • Granddaughter will love them.
Cons
  • The paper may not be as durable as other watercolor papers

Nice Notebooks in my review

My husband is experienced with both oil and acrylic paints, but is just starting to dip his toes into watercolor. A keen student, he's been watching YouTube tutorials to get the basics down. One of his favorite watercolorists, James Gurney, paints in small notebook style pads, so naturally my husband was thrilled to have something similar for his own work. Unlike a traditional paper covered pad, these are more like small bound books and make for a more polished way to keep a record of ones art.

Pros
  • These books are amazing! Very strong, good quality paper. Truly a value!
Cons
  • There may be a limited color range available

Not good for watercolors, pen & ink is fine.

The book is well made and at a good price point. The pages are evenly stitched together, the covers lovely red fabric, it has a clear plastic envelope on the inside of the back cover. It has a ribbon to mark your page and nice elastic to hold it closed. The paper feels nice, but this is pulp paper. They state it has some cotton, but it sure doesn't feel like it. You can do a quick wash and some details but that's about it. Expect the paper to buckle badly. It will flatten out somewhat once you…

Pros
  • 24 Sheet Pack - This pad is glued bound to ensure the sheet underneath holds its original round shape – delivered with a black plastic paper cutter for easy sheet by sheet removal.
Cons
  • The paper may not be as versatile as other watercolor paper options

Great for beginners

Great size for travel and comes in a set of 2! There’s a band to keep the book closed which maybe helps press wet pages back flat. There’s also a ribbon bookmark to easily find your place. The smooth pages face each other and the textured sides face each other so if your art spans across two, it’s on the same surface. As a beginner in watercolor, this met my needs for a notebook to try out different techniques and play. I don’t feel tied down by wanting to make every page "perfect” and can just…

Pros
  • 7.09 x 7.09 x 0.51 inches
Cons
  • The paper may not be as widely available as other watercolor paper options

Great for artists - my new review

This is a very portable, sturdy watercolor pad that any artist will enjoy. The paper is very thick. You can use both sides without having the color bleed through. The size and shape is perfect for travel. It fits easily into a backpack and is a comfortable size to hold, not too large or too small. It stays closed with an elastic band. These would be an appreciated gift for any artist, student or professional.

Pros
  • Got it as a gift and they love it
Cons
  • The paper may not be suitable for advanced watercolor techniques

Great value watercolor paper

After receiving the TRAOLOZZA 11*14’’ two watercolor pad, and the two pack waterpaper seal is very good, which well protects the glue of the watercolor paper. The watercolor paper is not too white or yellow. The paper is good for wet media such as the watercolor or arylic maker paint, the paper is durable for multi layers color, and the size is relatively large. Each pad has 33 sheets paper, so if it is not used up in a short time, it maybe placed in a dry place or best to seal the paper in a…

Great Value for Good Quality Made Duo; Giftable

Two red fabric hardbound (40 sheets per) watercolor pads for $17, as of this writing, is a great value. They feel well made, each page has a good weight/texture, is easy to use, and I think would be great for beginners and gifts. Size-wise, the 5x8 pages seem ideal for landscapes or small single-subject projects; multimedia (sketching and painting). I got these because I am a beginner and wanted a decent quality paper to practice on for a watercolors class. They hold up. Has a ribbon and a…

Pros
  • teaching a watercolor class
Cons
  • The color of the paper may affect the color of the paint when using transparent watercolors

Poor Block: my feedback

The whole point of a block is to paint without having to tape it down, right? That the paper has minimal buckling when wet, yes? This block comes unglued when you work, the painting in progress buckles, and the paper underneath gets stained with watercolors from the previous painting. You can see I have camouflaged the blue that bled in from the last painting with sky. Wish me luck in camouflaging the autumn orange with a beach scene! Not the kind of creativity most artists are looking for. But…

Exceptional!: my feedback

I purchased these for a sketching trip to Mexico. The first thing you notice about them is their heft when you pick them up. You can tell that this is quality paper right off the bat. The size is perfect for making on the go watercolor sketches or double wide panoramic scenes. It's just the right size for a take along travel sketchbook, and the elastic keeps your work from getting smudged and helps with keeping things flat. There's a pocket in the back for inserting momentos or for paint cards…

Pros
  • The TAVOLOZZA watercolor paper pad is perfect for exploring new color palettes or creating abstract pieces
Cons
  • The paper may not be suitable for use with certain mounting techniques

Fun size easy to use results as expected

I love making round paintings and having the sides glued down in this block made it so easy. Paper functioned fine, there is a substance that comes in around the edge and repels paint a bit but I don’t mind. Cute block of paper, didn’t really have any issues. The plastic separator it came with is a bit thick, I ended up using a regular pallet knife but that’s just me.

Pros
  • Each pad includes a letter opener, allowing for easy removal of the sheets without accidentally damaging them
Cons
  • The paper may not hold up well to erasing

Paper pills good for me

This is good value for the money but the paper tends to pill when used for watercolor. It absorbed very quickly but also was easily frictioned, the friction of the brush against the paper caused a lot of paper beads to be created.

Pros
  • The pad's glue-bound feature ensures that the sheets remain flat, resulting in a professional-looking finished product
Cons
  • The paper may not be as crisp as other watercolor paper options

Beautiful little book

I take this everywhere with me. It’s perfect for travel. I use watercolor, ink, and acrylic in it and it’s perfect The paper may not be suitable for detailed work.

Cons

Great watercolor pads!

I love these watercolor pads. The paper is nice and heavy. The smooth texture is not what I typically like for larger paintings, but it's perfect when you want to sketch in pen and ink in the field and then add some splashes of colors with your paints. The binding is gorgeous and the elastic band is a must to keep your pad tidy in your bag. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Smooth, Watercolor
Cons
  • The paper may not be as absorbent as other watercolor paper options

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Thick, doesn't curl much

This is a nice heavyweight paper that stands up to wet painting with watercolor or gouache. I found it easy to erase pencil when sketching, and easy to ink as well. Even when I used quite a bit of water, the paper didn't warp and curl much. The only catch is that it's patterned in a very uniform way, like a paper towel. Maybe you won't notice it or maybe you will, depending on your taste.

Pros
  • Its lightweight design is convenient for artists who prefer to work with small, manageable materials
Cons
  • The paper may not be as absorbent as preferred by some artists

Amazing Quality in my review

This watercolor paper is great! It’s thick enough so that you don’t feel like you’re constantly soaking through while creating, the texture is very nice and allows for the little variances that make watercolor paper feel a bit less uniform. I also love the size because now I’m not limited to tiny pictures, I can do bigger projects with more detail

Pros
  • Its 7-inch diameter size is perfect for small-scale painting and sketching projects
Cons
  • The paper may be prone to bleeding with certain paints or pigments

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good choice for the price

This Tavolozza art journal came as a 2-book set. I’m being nit picky about the number of sheets because I don’t like false advertising. There are 38 sheets (76 pages) in each book for painting, not 40 sheets (80 pages) as claimed. The extra 2 sheets are not part of the paintable surface pages. They are part of the leaflet that is glued to the inside part of the cover and are not watercolor quality at all. Having said that, the quality of the watercolor pages themselves are good enough for…

Pros
  • The TAVOLOZZA watercolor paper pad is made of superior quality, 300 GSM paper, ensuring durability and longevity of artwork
Cons
  • The paper may not be as durable as other watercolor paper options

Love these for watercolor

I like the paper and I love the covers. Cannot get enough of these! I cannot tell you how many I have ordered. Have them on subscription. These are great for watercolor practice and travel. Love the covers.

Pros
  • This paper can hold multiple layers of paint, making it perfect for those who prefer to build their paint application
Cons
  • The glue binding may be prone to coming undone

Okay quality: my feedback

Okay quality watercolor paper pads. This paper is very thick and works well for watercolors. The paper falls off the pad too easily and some of the pages are dirty and smudged. There is still a lot of paper included and it is all usable.

Pros
  • Size liked size.
Cons
  • The paper may not hold up well under repeated scrubbing

Surprisingly sturdy paper!

Very minimal buckling of the paper using watercolor and gouache. Good size, comfortable to work in, sturdy binding. Would order again, very enjoyable to work in so far, eapecially for the price 🥰

Pros

Cons
  • The paper may not be suitable for mixed media projects
