My 3 year old was very comfortable in it and it helped when he visited pebbly beaches. At first I was wondering why the extra velcro strap is needed as their adult sizes don't have one, but it helped keep the water shoe going. a bit firmer so it wouldn't accidentally slip off if it wasn't too tight, and it also helped hold more sand. They are very easy to clean. You can grab a shoe liner to rinse them out better, and it's also easy to turn shoes inside out if you want to throw them in for a quick wash. Definitely what I would recommend.
