I managed to fit the 12 inch ruler in the square on only one side. I decided I didn't want to own something so poorly designed and difficult to use. Life is too short, don't make me think. I ended up buying a higher quality Starrett combo set. The pain of high costs is short-lived, but quality lives forever. When I have a job I want to focus on that and not try to figure out why the tool isn't working as it should. If IGaging didn't design it to be easy to use, then I guess they didn't design it that well either. Time for a trip to Goodwill.
