Review on Pentair Pentek WS-20BB, 20-inch Big Blue Water Softener Cartridge, 20 x 4.5-inch by Angela Wash

I used these filters to reduce the water hardness in our home (which a traditional water softener doesn't help). Requires spare salt and lots of space. These filters need to be changed often because they have a limited lifespan. I reordered two Pentek WS--20BB (I always try to have one in reserve as I measure water hardness and sometimes I have to change the filter before the manufacturer's recommended number of gallons is processed) I opened the first one Box upon receipt and installed it in my Big Blue. The filter you find isn't perfect, but it works adequately in a residential environment (better than nothing) and doubles the hardness of our water (cleaner laundry, no cloudy dishes, etc.) I've just got to the recommended replacement point (more than 30 days you). years later) based on water usage and the second WS-20BB filter was broken and damaged - see photos. First, my recommendation is to open these filters immediately upon receipt and carefully inspect them for damage. Second, DO NOT ORDER TWO OR MORE AT A TIME. Revain will need to pack these filters with some padding if more than one filter is being shipped (btw there is no padding in the box the filter is shipped in) as the filters are very heavy which is likely due to damage to the top . a second filter that ran through the "brown" sand-like material used in the water softening process.
