No More Leaks: Lighting and Accessories
My OEM high mount stop light has been leaking water through a gasket into its housing for several years. I applied a large coat of grease around the seal a couple of times a year to control leakage, but eventually the seal failed completely. I replaced the gasket but it was still leaking and since the lenses were a bit cloudy I decided to just replace the entire unit. After assembly I wrapped it in a thin silicone bead and now I have a bright, leak proof high mounted brake light.
