I have been using the DE razor for over a year now. I used a soft butterfly. Decided to experiment. Couldn't be happier. Shaved exactly as described. I would not recommend it for a beginner. Learn to shave with a gentle razor and experiment with blades. This parker is heavy and has a long handle. At an angle, it is more aggressive towards the skin. Works very well with the weight of the razor without the added pressure. Works well with my Feather blades and Dorco Prime blades. A truly close shave requires far fewer passes. Warning: This is a three-part razor. The handle screws into the center prong of the top. It's well made and you have to turn the knob many times to get it all the way in. If you don't go all the way in and seal with some pressure. If you don't get it right it will be loose, misaligned and you will cut yourself etc. When properly aligned and tightened it works great.
