I think this would make a good gift for very young children. The spheres are all different - some have bulges, ridges, craters, etc. - and a small child can have a lovely sensory experience grabbing and holding them. The blocks are slightly stiffer and have different shapes and patterns. You can also put them together by aligning the shape cutout below. Donuts/rings also have different patterns such as shapes, numbers, fruits, letters of the alphabet. The top 3 rings fit closer together than the last 3. If you connect and lift the top 3 they stay connected. The bottom 3 fall apart when you pick them up. I love that the colors are a bit muted and that each shape has something unique. Fun + Learn = Win!
