Cute, light but cool on wet skin

I bought two of these "towels" in different prints, mainly for travel. but I was experimenting with one this week to see if I'll use it long term. I haven't decided yet if I should send them back but my overall impression is that I'm a bit disappointed. On the one hand, the prints and patterns are beautiful. colorful, bright, eye-catching. The "towel" is really light and probably doesn't take up much (valuable) space in your suitcase or hand luggage. I would definitely take it anywhere I would have expected to get wet if I didn't have room for a towel. The main downside I found with this product is that when I use it to dry off after a workout in the pool or in the shower, it feels cold and uncomfortable against my skin. A traditional towel usually seems fairly neutral in terms of temperature. When I take off my cold and sticky swimwear, the traditional towel instantly becomes warm and soft. On the contrary, this "towel" feels uncomfortably cool and a bit stiff. I wasn't sure what to expect from the "microfiber" description. Over the years I've come to realize that "microfiber" is something soft and suede-like. That's not it. The texture is more like a smooth sheet, but a bit stiffer (perhaps due to the pressure?). Again, the design is really very nice. The portability is amazing. The functionality of a towel to dry off in or wrap up warm in is not great in my opinion.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Nothing here
